THE MEMORY

The ringer was the shirt of 1975. White body, dark bands at the collar and the cuffs — little league, gym class, the last day of school. You wore it until the bands went soft and the neck stopped holding its shape. Nobody chose a ringer. It was simply what shirts looked like.
