26 May 1975, Wembley Stadium, London. Thirteen single-decker buses laid end to end on the pitch, ninety thousand people in the stands. He cleared the thirteen and lost the bike on the landing. Then he got up, waved off the stretcher and walked to the microphone under his own power.
