THE DAY
8 September 1974. A steam-powered rocket on a ramp cut into the south rim of the Snake River Canyon, about a mile west of Shoshone Falls. The parachute came out on the way up, the wind carried him back into the canyon, and he came down on the bottom near the water and walked away from it.
Everybody alive that day remembers where they watched it. That is a rare thing for any event, let alone one man on one afternoon.
THE DESIGN
Bold 1970s artwork in vivid color, printed on black heather. It catches the audacity of the thing rather than the outcome, which is the right call.
THE GOODS
- Soft poly/cotton blend, pre-shrunk
- Bella + Canvas 3001, side-seamed
- Unisex sizing XS–5XL
- Wash cold inside out
